Besides ongoing fundraising our absolute top priority is to
complete at least a first draft of the entire script and musical
score by May 1st, 2012, about 6 months from now.
Sounds like a long way off but we have a huge job in front of us.
We must begin by conducting a second much more in-depth round
of interviews with each of our subway performer cast members…and probably of some of our underground audience members too. Then we have to transcribe not only all of these 2nd interviews but all of the preliminary/first interviews we conducted over a year ago - September/October, 2010!
The interview transcriptions along with a good deal of additional
related research will lay the foundation for our script and score even though we worked out a very preliminary rough draft of an
overarching story/plot/scenario last winter and spring.
But now that we’ve got a great Script/Book writer on board,
the process will go much deeper and take longer. As the script evolves/emerges we will move into full gear on the creating the
musical score – both new original songs and adaptations of
existing songs already written by our subway performer cast.
The “at-least” first draft script and score will enable us to bring on
board a world-class Director and team up with a Lead-Producer
Company which in turn will launch us into the Production phase.
